在1月30日，59隊來自46間中、小學及機構的隊伍齊集於香港理工大學，參與由香港青年協會主辦，香港理工大學與西覓亞有限公司支持的學界盛事「2015/16香港FLL創意機械人大賽」。踏入第11屆，今年FLL的主題為「廢」盡心思。各隊伍需以創意設計及搭建各式各樣的機械人，完成12項與學習有關的任務。除此之外，參賽學生需就自己感興趣的題目作出研究，探討如何源頭減廢或改進現有固體廢物的處理方式，並就其研究製作海報以促進隊伍之間的交流。

有賴老師及同學的付出，我校機械人學會奪得「團體合作獎」 及「最佳海報獎」。希望透過參加不同類型機械人比賽，繼續提升同學們對機械人的興趣及創造力。

Use A Ram Disk To Reduce Writes On Solid State Drives

SSD (Solid State Drives) are much faster than traditional hard disks, but writing to a SSD drive too frequent can slow the drive down and shorten its lifespan. Therefore using RAM as a "disk" to save temporary files would be a good idea.
